Commitment Ceremonies

A Commitment Ceremony or Civil Partnership may be religious or secular and can be entered into by couples regardless of sex or gender. Under the present Queensland Marriage Act 1961, it is a way to legally recognise a relationship between two adults of the same sex.

The registration provides both partners with proof of the existence of their relationship. This satisfies a range of laws including government assistance, tax and superannuation. This type of ceremony suits couples who choose a public affirmation of their commitment to their relationship rather than a legal marriage.

This ceremony is rapidly gaining popularity. It can be as structured as a wedding ceremony without the legal implications or a simple private affirmation. Together we will organise the perfect ceremony to suit your individual requirements. When the laws change in Queensland, I will be there to make the relationship a legal Marriage.
